Common questions
Which headphones work?
AirPods Pro (all generations), AirPods Max, AirPods (3rd generation) and newer, and select Beats models. AirPods (1st and 2nd generation) and other Bluetooth headphones do not have the motion sensors Plumb needs. You can still use the stretch routines, or try the app with Demo motion: on the Today screen, tap the headphones chip at the top right.
Plumb says it is waiting for my AirPods.
Put your AirPods in your ears and connect them to this iPhone, wear both earbuds (taking one out can pause motion data), and make sure Motion & Fitness is allowed for Plumb in iOS Settings.
How does calibration work?
You sit the way you want to sit for a few seconds, then tip your head forward once. Plumb measures your head angle from that reference. Recalibrate any time from the Today screen, for example when you change chairs or desks.
Why do I get a cue when I only looked at my keyboard?
You should not: quick glances never count. Plumb only cues when your head stays forward for longer than your delay setting. If cues feel too eager, raise the delay or the angle in Settings (Plumb Pro), or recalibrate.
Does it keep working with the screen locked?
Yes. While a session runs, Plumb stays active with a silent audio session, which is why it uses iOS's background audio mode; the only sound it ever plays is the soft posture cue. Start, pause and end a session from the Lock Screen Live Activity or the Session widget. Widgets refresh at a pace iOS controls, so the Live Activity is the one that follows your posture live.
What is free and what is Plumb Pro?
Free gives you 30 tracked minutes a day (plus one optional rewarded video for 15 more minutes), the Desk mode, sound cues, three days of history and two stretch routines. Plumb Pro unlocks unlimited sessions, iPhone haptic and notification cues, custom sensitivity, all modes, full history and charts, the whole stretch library and the Today and Streak Home Screen widgets. It comes yearly (with a free trial the first time), monthly, or once for life.
I bought Pro, but it is locked on my new iPhone.
Open Plumb, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with.
How do I cancel my subscription?
In iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Plumb. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next renewal. Pro stays unlocked until the end of the period you paid for.
Is my data private?
Yes. Head-motion readings are processed on your iPhone and never uploaded, and Plumb has no account. Read the Privacy Policy for the details, including the optional rewarded ad on the free plan.
Is Plumb a medical app?
No. Plumb offers general wellness feedback and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. If you have pain or a health concern, talk to a qualified professional.
